I choose to focus with them on conversations about moments they want to remember from their service experience. Most choose a background image of the landscapes of combat. Some choose weapons of war. Others select the memory of a specific moment. These are not memorial artworks. Over the past year, I’ve collected dozens of such stories. These are personal stories, and up to them to tell them. I feel it’s an important mission to be a vessel for their expression. I continue to illustrate upon request. Feel free to share and spread the word.
